Landscapes of Iceland
Panoramas
Icelandic panoramas, stitched from two or more frames.
Dettifoss is a waterfall with a largest volume of discharge in Europe. And when you're there, you can certainly feel its power. This view is from the East bank.
Another panorama of Dettifoss, this one was captured from the west bank. Since my CF card was nearly full of images, taken throughout the day, I took only “jpeg’s”. I regretted that fact at the moment I started getting the photos ready for stitching due to differences between the WB & colors/contrasts on edges of images, especially the water. At the end I decided to stitch a panorama, turn it to B&W and color it “manually. 4 vertical shots.
2 horizontal shots stitched together. I used different exposure times on both shots here due to the direct light from the rising sun on the left shot, and finally adjusted the colors & exposure mostly on the right shot to make it as close as possible to the left one. I tried to use the longest possible exposure time in order to "mimic" the mirror image of those fantastic heavy clouds.
This panorama is from the outskirts of Borgarnes, west Iceland. I liked the rainy, moody feeling the location offered. Stitched from 7 vertical shots.
Another moody panorama. I liked the grass in the foreground, as well as the heavy clouds, "pushing" down on the mountain in the background. In the background you can also see one of the most famous Icelandic waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss. Stitched from 7 vertical shots.
A panorama of Isafjörður, the capital of west fjords. As the title suggests, it was taken at dawn. 7 vertical shots.
A panorama of Seyðisfjörður, my current residence. I took it in late February, when the sun rays finally reach the town after a long, dark winter. 7 vertical shots.
